The Star of David is an interpratation of one of the most notably interlocking tetrahedron in today’s world! Inspired by it, Asaf Zakay works with materials such as marble and wood to create geometric glass sculpture dedicated to the regular tetrahedron. He is an artist and designer able to transform simple panes of glass into enamoring, three-dimensional light fixtures capable of transforming ordinary spaces into prismatic realms of patterns and pigments.
Asaf began incorporating the glass working techniques into his personal work, after working as an installer of Belgian stained-glass windows, which directs DesignSigh to the sublime collection of his creations presented here.
The designer is extremely calm and positive person!
“I love to create pieces that have an existence beyond what you are looking at, and I find I can do this with my glass sculptures and lighting,” explains Zakay. “As a designer, my creations are fashioned on what is known as the golden ratio, a ratio that appeals to the human sense of beauty and balance. I aim to capture the essence of nature and allow people to see it as if for the first time.”
