Prism of Threads is a vehicle for Tracy Conti McCarty to share vintage, handmade, & ethnic wearable art with the world. She was raised by a retail mama who took her on thrift store expeditions more regularly than most people go to church. She spent five years in New York City, working in junk shops and combing treasures from the vast seas of vintage the city had to offer.
In Los Angeles, she discovered new colors and textures in the ethnic textiles and embroidery that drifted north from Central and South America. Driven by a deep respect for our planet and it’s limited resources, Prism of Threads makes garments from vintage textiles, using handcrafted techniques to make pieces that are truly sustainable and unique.
Everything in the shop is handpicked, one of akind, and made with love! The model is the lovely boho princess Nathalie Kelley!
